FUNNY.......YET SAD,,,,,54 YEARS AGO

Funny......yet sad...54 years ago....

Comments made in the year 1955!

That's only 54 years ago!

'I'll tell you one thing, if things keep going the way they are, it's going to be impossible to buy a week's groceries for $10.00.

'Have you seen the new cars coming out next year? It won't be long before $1, 000.00 will only buy a used one.

'If cigarettes keep going up in price, I'm going to quit. 20 cents a pack is ridiculous.

'Did you hear the post office is thinking about charging 7 cents just to mail a letter

'If they raise the minimum wage to $1..00, nobody will be able to hire outside help at the store.

'When I first started driving, who would have thought gas would someday cost 25 cents a gallon. Guess we'd be better off leaving the car in the garage.

'I'm afraid to send my kids to the movies any more Ever since they let Clark Gable get by with saying DAMN in GONE WITH THE WIND, it seems every new movie has either HELL or DAMN in it.

'I read the other day where some scientist thinks it's possible to put a man on the moon by the end of the century. They even have some fellows they call astronauts preparing for it down inTexas .

'Did you see where some baseball player just signed a contract for $50,000 a year just to play ball? It wouldn't surprise me if someday they'll be making more than the President.

'I never thought I'd see the day all our kitchen appliances would be electric. They are even making electric typewriters now.

'It's too bad things are so tough nowadays. I see where a few married women are having to work to make ends meet.

'It won't be long before young couples are going to have to hire someone to watch their kids so they can both work.

'I'm afraid the Volkswagen car is going to open the door to a whole lot of foreign business.

'Thank goodness I won't live to see the day when the Government takes half our income in taxes. I sometimes wonder if we are electing the best people to government.

'The drive-in restaurant is convenient in nice weather, but I seriously doubt they will ever catch on.

'There is no sense going on short trips anymore for a weekend, it costs nearly $2.00 a night to stay in a hotel.

'No one can afford to be sick anymore, at $15.00 a day in the hospital, it's too rich for my blood.'

'If they think I'll pay 30 cents for a hair cut, forget it.'

I am NOT ASHAMED. Stand up for CHRIST

Corpus Christi

Isn't it peculiar that Muslims rant and rave over objectionable material concerning Mohammed and everyone from government to schools, the press and libraries bend over backwards to satisfy their demands. Yet, when someone blasphemes Christ there is no uproar. Perhaps this is the fault of those who proclaim to be Christian and say nothing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Going beyond disrespect...

The movie " Corpus Christi " is due to be released this June to August. A

disgusting film set to appear in America later this year depicts Jesus and

his disciples as homosexuals! As a play, this has already been in

theatres for a while. It's called " Corpus Christi " which means "The

Body of Christ". It's revolting mockery of our Lord. But we can make a

difference.

That's why I am sending this posting  so that we can get the word out .  Please

spread the word about this terrible mockery that is being done about  our Lord and

Savior.  Send emails, talk about it on facebook, lets do whatever we need to stop this,

we just might be able to prevent this film from showing in

America . Let's stand for what we believe in and stop the mockery of

Jesus Christ our Savior. Where do we stand as Christians? At the risk of

a bit of inconvenience, I'm  posting so that all can see what we need to do to try to prevent such offenses against our Lord.

There is no petition to sign, no time limit, or minimum number of

people to send this to.. It will take you less than 2 minutes! If you

are not interested and do not have the 2 minutes it will take to do this,

please don't complain when God does not have time for

you because He is far busier than we are. Hey, it's worth a shot!

Apparently, some regions in Europe have already banned the film. All we

need is a lot of prayer and a lot of e-mails.

JUST GET THE WORD OUT

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

Just wanted to wish everyone a great July 4th weekend. I know we will all be busy doing something exciting. But I just wanted to remind everyone lets remember what this great holiday is all about. Our Independence from England, the starting of one of the greatest country God ever established. When we think about out  heritage, it should give us chills, because of our founding fathers who were willing to take the risk against the King of England so we could have our liberities that we have today. Like those founding fathers we need to be willing to stand up against the things that are happening today. Our Congressmen and our President do not want to abide by the very Constitution they swore to uphold with there hand on the Bible. So lets remember these things and stand up to the plate for the sake of our Great Country, the United States of America.  I would also like to salute all the men and women who serve our country faithfully thorought the world because if it wasn't for these men and women, we would not be able to defend the great Country of ours.  Also, I want to thank all family memebers who have to make scarfices while there family members are away serving the great call of defending the United States of America.  Here is a big
THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SCRAFICES

After you have given your prays and thoughts of this great country, then go out and have fun with your family and friends.  Here is a great thought for relaxing and enjoy the great beauty that God gave us.
Have a great 4th of July.

Happy Father's Day!

It Is Written:

"Honor your father and your mother,
so that you may live long in the land
the Lord your God is giving you."
( Exodus 20:12 *NIV )

Today being a day to honor our father's, we began the message
with the Fifth Commandment. This Commandment is the first one
with a promise attached to it!

So as we enjoy this day with our earthly father, let us not forget
our Heavenly Father as well, for after all; Have we not all one
Father? Did He not create us? ( Malachi 2:10 )

Therefore on this day I would like to share the following poem
with you. A poem dedicated to our Heavenly Father!

Never Alone!

He can calm the troubled waters
When you walk in dark despair.
There is hope when you feel helpless
Knowing that the Lord is there...

Sharing in your sunshine moments
Or in valleys deep and wide,
He is always by your side.

There's no other friend so faithful
Through the sunshine and rain,
Through the teardrops and the laughter,
In your joy and in your pain.

We could never, ever thank Him
For His love He gives so free,
Never changing...never ending
Throughout all eternity.

Oh, the wonder of all wonders
As we live from day to day,
Knowing that we have a Father
Who is with us all the way.
          Poet, Gertrude B. McClain

So to Dad's everywhere, Grace and peace to you from
God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ,
on this your day and throughout the year, and may God Richly
Bless You as well! Amen. ( Romans 1:7 )

Be Thankful for all Your Blessings

God Bless the Little Ones Who Remind Us of our Great Country

I was sent this email and wanted to share with everyone.  Please take the time to listen to this.  We are still a great country and these little ones are singing about it.

http://Subject: Grateful third graders

After all the bad press over a few teachers who stepped

out of line teaching songs to our children, this one is one

you will be so proud to hear.

At the end of the song you can order the sheet music.

Awesome. I hope this sweeps our country and gets sung in

all our schools. The music teacher wrote the song and had all

the third graders sing. Enjoy -- great message.

These are the grandchildren of my wonderful family and, of course, my greatgrandaughter.

I was searching last night and I found this and I thought it was so true and decided I would share it with my blogging friends.  Hope you enjoy this and pass it on to a mom and dad.  Children are a gift from God.

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn.

If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight.

If a child lives with pity, he learns to feel sorry for himself.

If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy.

If a child lives with jealousy, he learns to hate.

If a child lives with shame, he learns to feel guilty.

IF a child lives with encouragement, he learns to be confident.

If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient.

If a child lives with praise, he learns to be appreciative.

If a child lives with acceptance, he learns to love.

If a child lives with approval, he learns to like himself.

If a child lives with recognition, he learns to have a goal.

If a child lives with sharing, he learns about generosity.

If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice.

If a child lives with honesty, he learns what truth is.

If a child lives with security, he learns to have faith in himself.

If a child lives with friendliness, he learns that the world is a nice place to live in.

HAVE A GREAT MEMORIAL DAY

Please lets all remember this Memorial Day and the many scarifices that have been made to keep our country safe. Also, on this day as we remember these scarifices that we take the time to follow what is happening in our great Country of America. We have some things happening that we need to stand up and speak out against. Our country is in much turmoil. So I beg you as Americans to learn history and see how far away from the Constitution we have fallen. Lets not just sat by and see our country change into something where we might not have the freedoms that so many have fought for. for so many years.

GOD BLESS AMERICA
