Merry Christmas From My House to Your House

Hi Everyone, Sure hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas and a Blessed Holiday. I wanted to share this with everyone, I get Glenn Beck's newsletter everyday and this touched me so much I wanted to share it with others who might not get Glenn Becks newsletter.

December 25, 2009
Everyone,
First of all, I pray you're having a very Merry Christmas, I truly love this time of year, with all the traditions and the lights and the cookies and the brightly wrapped packages and the cookies and being surrounded by friends and family and... the cookies. Regardless of what kind of year it's been piolitically, economically or any other kind of "ally," as long as we remember what this time of year is really about, then each of us has a great deal to feel "Merry" about.

I've always considered Christmas to be a kind of "phase two" of the big holiday trilogy - Thanksgiveing, christmas and New Year's Day. Once November rolls around, Thanksgiving is a time to look forward to spending with family, a wonderful "excuse" to gather together and remind ourselves that our families are the foundation upon which we build our lives. Our families are what enable us to be the very best version of ourselves, and for that we should give thanks.

Then comes Christmas with its transformative gift of redemption - a wonderful present we've all been given and once we open it, we finally understand how fulfilling and rich our lives can truly be.

And then comes New Year's, picking up on the idea of Christmas, redemption's opportunight for a fresh start. Maybe it's just a date on a calendar, but News Year's Day is a clean page, a fresh start and a new beginning filled with endless possibilities, and a bit of a pre-game show for the renewal of Easter. But I'm getting ahead of myself(as I have the tendency to do....maybe this year soeone will give me the gift of patience). Yes, once again it's Christmas with the divine gift of redemption! It's the ultimate "do over," and with the New Year ahead we get the chance to start "doing." As for me, I cound't be more excited.

So take today and breathe in the smell of that Christmas tree, forget about what those lights are doing to your electric bill, and soak in the joy of being surrounded by your loved ones and the spirit of what this day is truly about. And remember, while Christmas may one come once a year, you can carry its feeling with you each and every day.

May God bless you, and I wish you a very Merry Christmas.
Glenn Beck

Please remember to hug your families everyday and that they are special no matter what comes in life.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday

America is Speaking Out

Good Morning all,
Well, it looks like America is speaking out. We do not want government run health care nor do we want more debt. YES, health care does need to be reformed but there are other ways. Our government does not need to take over 20% of our government GPD. So we must keep letting our voices be heard. America lets all meet in Washington DC on September 12 for the 912 Project. Its away to let your voice be heard loud and clear. Keep up the letters going to Washington so we can change the way our Country is heading. Speak up America, its the only way our voice can be heard. I challenge everyone that is dissatisfied with the way Congress is running our Country to speak out, we do have that right. Here's wishing everyone a great day.
REMEMBER SPEAK UP AMERICA, UNITED WE STAND. We are " WE THE PEOPLE" .

Concern For Our Country

I want to read this Bible verse to you. And I beg you as Glen Beck did the other day on his television program "He asked that everyone pray, get down on our knees and pray for our Country. There is a bible verse in 2 Chronicles 7:14. "It says, My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Well people it is now the time to get on our knees and pray. Our country is going the wrong way and has been for a while but only if we let it. We need to pray and then act. I have written a letter and I'm sending it to all of our Congressmen. Yes it takes time but we might not have allot of time left. So I beg you to write to your Congressmen and let it be known that you are against the health care plan & cap & trade bills. These 2 bills will send us closer THAN EVER TO SOCIALISM. So STAND UP AND BE HEARD. Here is my letter, feel free to copy it and send it to your Congressmen

Honorable Congressman,

I'm taking the time to write this email for the benefit of all Americans, Please do not vote away our Country on this Health Care and Cap and Trade Bills. I beg you not to destroy our demoracy towards becoming a socialist nation. Our forefathers fought hard for what we believe is the freedom for all people. Why do so many people want to come to America because we have the freedom to choose, speak out against things if we do not agree with other people and even our congressmen. They also come because we have the greatest health care system in the world. I beg you to wake up and see what things that you are changing in our Country of America. WE ARE THE PEOPLE AND WE CAN VOTE. We have the right unless you see fit to take that away too. I beg you to stop spending so much money that our country will never be able to recover. And I also beg you to read what you are voting on. It only takes a little time. Remember what you sign could take away the freedom that was sacrificed and paid for by many lives over 200 years of our country's history.

Many people have fought to protect these freedoms in the First World War and the Second one, also the Korean War, Vietnam, and the Gulf War. Now, we are fighting the terrorist in two different countries. So, I beg you don't let there blood go to waste. Please do not let these two bills be rushed through Congress. PLEASE STOP!!!!!!!!!!! Pray and realize (We the People) do not want these bills passed. We do not want to become a Socialist Nation.

Yours Truly,

Stand UP American remember United WE STAND

Please take the time to write.

GOD BLESS AMERICA

What is Hope?

Have you ever really thought of what you have hope in? Well, lets examine this word a little. Hope--The desire for something which a person believes can be obtained or expects he will get. Also, a person or thing that gives promise for future action. To have hope or desire. These meanings are from the regular dictionary.

My Christian dictionary says this--Trustful expectation particularly with reference to the future fulfilliment of God's promises. Biblical hope is the anticipation of a favorable outcome under God's guidance. More specifically hope is the confidence that what God has done for us in the past guarantees our participation in what God will do in the future.

Now, let me ask you, what is your hope in? Is it in yourself, money, family, things or in causes like saving the planet. Sometimes we get so caught up in our things like finding a husband, making alot of money families and sometimes in causes-we do need to think of these things but they should not be what we put our hope in.

I hope I'll live forever, there is no way for that to happen unless we have our hope in Jesus Christ. He is the answer for all our hopes. And if we know Him as our Lord and Savior, we will live with Him in heaven forever praising Him forever for what He did on the cross.

When I was diagnoised with colon cancer several years back, I was so frighten beause I was scared but My God gave me hope through His love and grace. And I also had the hope if I died I knew where I would spend eternity. Hope is a word we use all the time but I would like to ask you, what is your hope in. My prayer is that you will find Jesus so you will be able to participate in what God will do in the future for all believers. But one real good thing is that while your here on this side of heaven He will be your Savior and your best friend. He is an awesome God who takes care of you and He knows the hair that is numbered on your head. Can you imagine that. I sure hope that I have touched someones heart and you will think of where your Hope is? If you have any question about Salvation, please email me. God is good all the time.

Sorry, For Not Posting

Well, I have been home for almost a month now, and have not posted anything. I have been working out in the yard, trying to get a new flower bed built. I also redid one in the front yard with bricks because the old landscape timbers were coming apart. I have some pictures to show you. I had such a good time in Colorado with my daughter and her family. I didn't really want to come home but was homesick for my hubby. I have some great things to show you that I'm working on. I'm going to try to start posting everyday about something or just about what God is doing in my life and my friends lives.

It is so great when we have our Heavenly Father watching over us and know that He is in control. So no matter what happens you can depend on Him. He allows His grace and love to hover over us and makes a way out of our troubles. He comforts us in whatever circumstance we might be in. So I urge you today if you don't know Jesus, email me and I will be glad to send scriptures to help you understand and make a decision to serve our Lord and Savior.

I sure hope you have a great day and please try to make it to church tomorrow and hear what God has to say.

Take care and remember God cares about you.

Going Home to Virginia

Well, I going home today. I hate to leave but time has passed really fast these past two weeks. All of the scenery here in Colorado fascinates my brain and stirs my soul to no end. These mountains where my daughter lives stands in such glorious testimony to our God. If we would just look around our world we could see His glory is everything which He created for our enjoyment. He created all things for us so we could learn from these His creations what an awesome God we have.

If people could just learn to trust Him and realize He is Lord, our world would be such a better place. I just told my daughter yesterday that being here has encouraged me to write more on my blog. Its amazing how things will inspire you to write and put your thinking into words.

My God and my family are the most priceless gifts I have on this side of Heaven. For what we do here on earth will determine were we spend eternity. God is good. I pray that anyone who reads these words will seek Jesus for a new beginning in there life.

Last Day In Colorado

Well, this is my last day here in Colorado. It makes me sad when I realize that when I leave I will not see my family here in Colorado for at least 6 to 8 months. It saddens the heart but I also will gbe glad to be going Home to my husband and friends; I have missed church for 2 weeks and I miss hearing the teaching of my Lord and Savior, and I miss all my christian friends.

So matter where you are, we have memories that are always with us till we meet again. We cherish those memories and long for being where we had those memories. My son died in 1997 and I have the memories of when he was home and the things that we did as a family and the special times he and I spent together. They never leave you.

This was a special trip that I didn't realize I would being coming here to Colorado, but God has a way of lettering us know of all the great things He has in store for us. We just need to be patience and let Him lead us. One of my favorite bible verse which I really stand on is

Proverbs 3:5-7

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him. And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

I have experienced the most beautiful scenry here in Colorado that has help me seek a closeness to my Lord. I would like to share some of these beautiful scenes.

Counting the Days

Well, I'm counting the days down to go back home to Virginia. It has been a great visit with my daughter & her husband, and especially with the 2 grandgirls. We have talked, colored and explored the grounds around the house. Today we spent time exploring around the fire pit and just talking. I just love to watch them. Sometimes they will play and dig in the dirt. Its so amazing when you see these little ones talking to each other planning what they are going to do, which they could be conspiring to get into trouble or just have fun. The bond these two little girls have are amazing. I treasure the time that I have spent with them these past 2 weeks. My prayer is that God will protect these little ones and give there mom and dad the wisdom to do for them and rear them in the nuture of the Lord.

Colorado Dreaming

Well, I here in Colorado with my daughter, Dawn and Dave her husband and 2 of the most beautiful granddaughters you could have. We are enjoying the weather. Its been beautiful here. I have played with my grandgirls for 3 days. We have another 11 days to enjoy each others company. I hope every dad has a great day with there families and especially there children. Children are a gift from God for us to love and cherish for his Glory. So dads and moms enjoy your children and remember to be thankful for what God has given you. Its a mighty big job training up children to bring honor to ourselves but most of all to our Heavenly Father. So remember on this Father's Day you have a responsiblity not only to your children but to God. Have a great day. And remember this is the day that God made.

Here are a few pictures to my grandgirls.

I sure hope everyone has had a blessed Easter. I just wanted to share this devotion this morning with all. I praise God for Jesus who died for me and the whole world. If you do not know Jesus. Please take the time to search, learn and commit your life to Him. Life will not necessary be easier but we have a friend that has conquered the world for us. We just need to pray for the power that He has to over come the world and live for Him. And... remember because He Lives we shall live forever in Heaven with Him. Praise God! Praise God! We have that promise.
Happy Easter

Christ Has Risen! He Has Risen Indeed!

O death, where is thy sting?
O grave, where is thy victory?
( 1 Corinthians 15:55 *KJV )

Dear Pat,
As you already know, on this the Highest Holy Day
of the Christian year, we celebrate Christ's Resurrection,
and the promise of forgiveness of our sins, and Eternal
Life for God's Children! For if we have been
united together in the likeness of His death,
certainly we also shall be in the likeness
of His resurrection.
( Romans 6:5 )

Isn't it truly Wonderful to know that someday we
will be with God, the Arc Angels, our loved ones,
and all the company of Heaven? For of that day it is
written; God will wipe away every tear
from their eyes; there shall be no more
death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There
shall be no more pain, for the former
things have passed away.
( Revelation 21:4 )

So let us Celebrate Today, and Thank Jesus Christ for
what He did us! After all it is written; For indeed
Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.
Therefore let us keep the feast, Amen.
( 1 Corinthians 5:7-8 )

All My Love & Prayers,
Pastor Allen

Just thoughts

Sorry, I haven't gotten back to the blog, but I have had to deal with my mom being sick and the fact that she passed away last Friday. She had been in a nursing home for 2 1/2 years, but I went to see her on a regular basis. Its been sad but I know she is better off, she was 84 years old. I will miss her very much.

I'm almost finished with the Jenny Lynn Bench, I made from the crib. I will be posting the pictures in a couple of days. It looks good. I sure hope everyone is having great days and if your not just hang in there and remember God is in Control.
We really need to realize when thinks look bleek, all we have to do is call on Jesus to see us through those days. He's waiting for each of us to come to him. So if you don't know Him as your personal Savior, I encourage you to make a point to find Him. Let me know if you need any help.

Take care and have a blessed day wherever you are.

Rainy Days in Virginia

Well it has been raining now since Friday and its now Tuesday, I have to remember to be thankful for all things but I am really tired of this rain. It is suppose to be sunny tomorrow,(hurray).

I went out junking today and boy did I find some stuff. I will take a picture and post tomorrow, I can't get it out of the car with the rain. I'm looking forward to getting it out and get started putting some new touches on everything. I love prim and have learned so much from Char, The Pickled Pepper. She inspires me to get up and go and some times that's hard at my age. But I keep trying. I have been inspired by so many of the blogs. I sure hope I can get this blog going so it will help inspire people to appreciate the old as well as the new. Here are a few of the things that I make.

This is a pattern of a American flag painted on a cheese box, then sanded, speckled and stained. I also do cheese boxes in Santas, cats, snowmen and uncle sams.
